-Rafael Martínez is the new spanish senior champion. The championship has celebrated in El Vedat palace from Torrent (Valencia), on december 6 and 7 without Jesús Carballo, Gervasio Deffer, Victor Cano and Andreu Vivo, whom were injuried. Isaac Botella has won in vault and floor finals, Oriol Combarros in pommel horse, Andres del Valle in rings, Manuel Carballo in parallels bars and Alex Barrenechea in high bar.

In junior has won Ivan San Miguel from GC Covadonga club and he has also won in four events finals (floor, pommel horse, rings and vault) and he has been second in paralellas bars. In youthful has won Cristian Guillem from Torrent who has won in all events finals except floor.

-Women spanish team has been 6º, because of that all the team will go to olimpics games. Also the team will compete at team final. Elena Gómez (first AA) and Patricia Moreno will compete in individual final, and Elena Gómez in balance beam and floor finals. -Today August 15 (August 16 in Spain) start World Championships. In next page I have write some preliminary information (only in spanish):

-Gervasio Deferr won't go to world championship because a back injury. He'll be replace by Manuel Carballo.

-Melodie Pulgarín has been the only spanish gymnast to compete at the 7th European Youth Olimpics Games (July 29-August 1, Paris). In individual competition she was the eleventh because of two falls of beam. In events finals she won silver medal in floor. Congratulation Melodie!. -Gervasio Deferr has been excluded fo International Federation for three months since October 19, 2002, when he tested positive for Cannabis. For that he has been stripped for the silver medal he obtained in floor final at Debrecen World..

-Results from meeting at Dresden (Germany), celebrated july, 25 and 26. In team competition Spain was second in women and third in men, while in individual Elena Gómez and Rafael Martínez won the competition :

-Elena Gómez won spanish national championship in individual, vault, balance beam and floor. Second was Patricia Moreno and third Lenika de Simone. In uneven bars won Tania Gener and Sara Moro. In junior won Melodie Pulgarin. In clubs competition won Pozuelo from Madrid, second was Vilassar de Mar from Barcelona and third Xelsca from Balears Island.

-Recently has confirmed three gymnasts retired: Laura Martínez (because of three times knee surgery and not recovering), Susana Garcia and Cayetana Medina (because severals injures that have prevented her to compete in last two years; she's only 16).
